Covid-19:Two weeks Lockdown declared in Kabba-Kunnu LG,Kogi state

Kogi state governor,Alhaji Yahaya Bello,has declared two weeks lockdown in Kabba-kunnu local government area for the rise in Covid-19 cases in the state.This is coming after the Nigeria center for Disease Control(NCDC) announced two confirmed cases of the deadly virus.Kabba Kunnu has been said to be in Kogi west senatorial district of the state.
The governor said though the state government had a reservation for NCDC’s announcement of Covid-19 cases in kogi state,the government is locking down the area as a proactive step.
He also instructed the security agents in the state to ensure that the lockdown was effectively enforced.He promised adequate measures to curb the spread of the disease and to cushion the effect of the lockdown on the affected area.He revealed that he does not like lockdown as he knows the negative effect it will have on the affected area but he has to ensure the safety of the people. He however declared as Suspicious the declaration of the two cases in the state is since NCDC did not carry health officials of the state along in its investigation of the so called confirmation.
The NCDC had announced the confirmation Of two corona virus cases in Kogi state since the pandemic was first reported in February.when the cases were first announced,the Kogi state government disassociated itself from NCDC result.
