The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman; Professor Mahmood Yakubu has said subsequent elections in the country will be run with Electronic Voting Machine(EVM).
The chairman added that this was necessary in order to manage risk and ensure credibility in the service.
However, he noted that the coming elections in Edo and Ondo state will still be run in the existing order.
He reminded that all voters registration had earlier been suspended due to the pandemic; Covid-19 and safety rules.
The chairman declared this in a submit at Abuja tagged; Policy of conducting elections during the Covid-19 pandemic”
He also lamented on cost of running elections and plans to meet the National assembly to assist in nomination of replacement in political parties.
He added other measures that’ll be adopted during the coming elections and enjoined Nigerians to adhere. He stated that the E-voting will kickstart by 2021.
