National Assembly Clerk Forced to Retire

Sani Omolori, clerk of the national assembly, has been forced to retire after a failed trial for his tenure and other senior management staff to be extended.

The retirement of the clerk was approved by the Commission of the National Assembly.

The Commission further states that the age of retirement for national assembly staffs is 60 years and no staff should serve more than 35 years.

The cable confirmed to CMM that despite the fact that the clerk had passed age of retirement, he didn’t retire.

It was also noted that an illegal group of the former assembly had pegged the retirement age to 65 years and 40 years in service.

It was noted that all staffs of the national assembly are affected by this new development.
