The Army GOC said the call is necessary as it would help reduce the rate of road accidents involving Corps members across the country and also make them focus on their National assignment.
Meanwhile, Ikaka during his courtesy to the Army GOC called for greater collaboration between the NYSC and the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army.
On the issue of restricting corps members’ movement, it can be recalled that Brig. Gen. Shauibu Ibraham banned Corps members from travelling without permission few days after appointment as the new NYSC DG, but corps members still travel without permission.
So, do you think Nigerian Army should help enforce the travelling ban on corps members?
While responding, Adegboye stated that the division would continue to support the NYSC scheme in the various states under its command.
Adegboye made this call when the NYSC Southeast Area
Director, Mr Ahmed Ikaka, paid him a courtesy visit in Enugu.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 82 Division of Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. Lasisi Adegboye urged the
National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to restrict the
movement of Corps members.
